Courses

XR for research and rehabilitation

In this course we cover the basics of developing virtual and augmented reality experiments and rehabilitation tools. You will learn both practical programming (Blender, Unity), the underlying algorithms for rendering XR, delve into the interfaces for different sensory channels and study in depth the underlying cognitive processes during their use (embodiment effects, motion sickness, multisensory interaction, experience effects etc.).

This is a Grad level course (open to undergrads) given during the fall semester.

Digital systems and computer architecture

In this course, aimed at undergrads in biomedical engineering, we will learn the basics of digital design and travel u and down the hierarchy of abstractions to go from transistors through logic gates and components to computer microarchitecture and architecture.

Biomedical machine learning and data science

Dealing with data is becoming of the core jobs of a biomedical engineer. In this course, aimed at undergrads in the biomedical engineering program, we will learn how to plan a data project from planning and data collection through preprocessing and analysis to visualization. The core part of the course will focus on machine learning, where we will start with basic algorithms (e.g. linear and logistic regression, trees & forests, SVMs) and build our way up to recent deep learning tools and approaches.
